Pac-12 Now app general troubleshooting

Below are some basic tips for troubleshooting issues you may come across while using the Pac-12 Now app. 

First, please check the Apple app store or Google Play for Android to make sure you have the latest version of the Pac-12 Now app. Having the latest version will ensure the best possible experience.

If that does not solve the issue, please try the following for iOS and Android versions.

 

Pac-12 Now for iOS

  1. Restart your app.
    • Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button until the slider appears.
    • Drag the slider to turn your device completely off.
    • After the device turns off, press and hold the Sleep/Wake button again until you see the Apple logo.

  2. Force the Pac-12 Now app to close.
  3. Make sure you are logged out of your TV Provider in your phone's general settings as they may be overriding the TV information in Pac-12 Now
    • Navigate to your phone's general settings, scroll down to TV Provider, and log out
  4. Log out then log back in to your TV Provider account from within the Pac-12 Now app.
    • Navigate to the Settings screen, then tap the "Sign Out" button.
    • Attempt to "Sign In" and re-enter your TV Provider username/password.

Finally, please check the app store to make sure you have the latest version of Pac-12 Now. Having the latest version will ensure the best possible experience.

 

Pac-12 Now for Android

Please reference the Google Play troubleshooting instructions here: Fix an installed Android app that isn't working.

  1. Restart your device
    • To restart your phone, press and hold the Power button for a few seconds.
    • Then, on your screen, tap Restart Restart.
    • If you don't see "Restart," press and hold the Power button for about 30 seconds, until your phone restarts.
  2. Check for Android updates
    • System updates can bring improvements that may fix your issue.
    • To check for and install system updates:
      1. Open your device's Settings app Settings.
      2. Scroll to the bottom and tap About phone or About tablet and then System updates.
      3. You'll see your update status. Follow any on-screen steps.
  3. Update the app
    • App updates can bring improvements that may fix your issue.
    • To see and get updates for your apps:
      1. Open your device's Play Store app Play Store.
      2. Tap Menu Menu and then My apps & games.
      3. Apps with available updates are labeled "Update."
        • If an update is available, tap the app and then Update.
        • If multiple updates are available, tap Update all.
  4. Force stop the app
    • In general, you don't need to close apps. Android automatically manages the memory that apps use.
    • But to completely shut down an app, including any background services that it may be using:
      1. Open your device's Settings app Settings.
      2. Tap Apps.
      3. Pick the app from the list.
      4. Tap Force stop.
  5. Clear the app's cache
    • Clearing cached data can free up needed space by removing temporary files from your device. This is a short-term solution; over time, cached data will build up again and will need to be cleared.
    • To clear the cache for the app:
      1. Open your device's Settings app Settings.
      2. Tap Apps or Application manager (depending on your device).
      3. On the list, tap the app.
      4. Tap Storage.
      5. Tap Clear cache.
  6. Clear the app's data
    • Clearing all of an app's data can resolve some issues. Caution: Any data saved in this app will be erased.
    • To clear all of an app's data:
      1. Open your device's Settings app Settings.
      2. Tap Apps or Application manager (depending on your device).
      3. On the list, tap the app.
      4. Tap Storage.
      5. Tap Clear data.
  7. Make sure you are logged out of your TV Provider in your phone's general settings as they may be overriding the TV information in Pac-12 Now.
